Rebates
Icon Water administers a variety of rebate schemes on behalf of the ACT government, who also set the eligibility criteria, and provide advice to the ACT Government when prices are varied. When these prices rise it is usual for the rebates to increase by the percentage increase of the particular service — but the decision to do so is not in Icon Water's control.
Consumer Protection Code Service Rebates
We are required to meet certain standards in relation to the service we provide to you. In circumstances where service obligations are not met, outlined in the Consumer Protection Code, you may be eligible for a Rebate.
Rates for eligible work completed include:
- Labour
- Plant and equipment
- Materials
- Simplified 'tie excavation' reimbursement
Residential undetected leak allowance
If you have experienced an undetected water leak at your residential property, you may be eligible for a one-off allowance on your water consumption charges.
As of July 2017 the water rebate was combined with the energy and utility concession and now appears on energy accounts as a Utilities Concession. This will give extra relief to eligible renters who previously were not able to access the water and sewerage rebate. This change does not affect life support rebates. For more information go to the ACT Government website.
If the life support equipment you depend on requires a fresh supply of water then the account holder of your principal place of residence may be entitled to a rebate on the water usage charges.
