Business Clean Up Day 2020

We tackled our local neighbourhood in Mitchell this year, scouring parks and bushland around the suburb. You may not think of parks when you think of Mitchell but there is a surprising amount, including some remnant bushland and more trees than an industrial suburb would usually support.

13 Icon Water staff tackled the job on Tuesday 25th February, suitably dressed and equipped and full of enthusiasm.

We filled up 15 recycle bags, 15 landfill bags, assembled a pile of big items for Transport Canberra City Services pickup and found some interesting items during the clean-up. 

Clean Up Australia has been running for 28 years and last year over half a million Australians volunteered their time and collected 16,000 ute loads of rubbish at over 7,000 locations. Cleaning up is one thing but its also a great reminder to us all not to throw rubbish around in the first place!
