A time to connect with Music by the River

Published date

As residents of the Queanbeyan region and the ACT, we are so very lucky to be able to start to connect again at events such as Music by the River. After this past year of constant uncertainty, it is important that we can find a way to enjoy the beauty and character of our home.

In 2021, we are absolutely thrilled to announce that the well-loved event can go ahead, albeit in a slightly different format.

Sitting by the water’s edge in Queanbeyan, for the fifth year in a row, the Canberra Symphony Orchestra (CSO) will perform an evening of orchestral classics at Music by the River. It will be a wonderful night for music lovers, those being introduced to the joy of live music for the first time and those that want to soak up the atmosphere. A concert for the whole family.

“Music by the River is a CSO’s favourite. After such a difficult year in 2020, our musicians are more excited than ever to bring beloved classics to the community, by the banks of the Queanbeyan River.” – Kirsten Williams, CSO Concertmaster.

Icon Water is proud to support this event each year to build on our partnership with the community.

“We’ve been partnering with Queanbeyan-Palerang Regional Council to bring this popular event back to the banks of Queanbeyan River for several years now because it’s such a great opportunity for our whole community to come together, especially this year. Icon Water has been providing water to Queanbeyan since 1926, so we have a long history of partnership that’s worth celebrating.” – Ray Hezkial, Icon Water Managing Director.

If you would like to attend, this year you must pre-register to ensure that you can enter the event space.

Get in quick as tickets are being snapped up by groups of friends and families. Attendees will be able to enjoy local wines, tasty food van favourites or can bring along their own picnic to enjoy.
