Just moved in to your new home? Make sure you know what water and sewerage assets could be around your property. Find out more

Moving house

When you purchase a property your solicitor will complete the necessary paperwork to transfer the Title of the property into your name/s. Icon Water is subsequently notified by the Land Titles office of the transfer and we will establish a water and sewerage account in the name/s as listed on the Title.

Once your account has been established we will send you a welcome pack with information about any debt that may have accrued since the issue of a conveyancing certificate; and our services and the network.

When buying or selling a home your Solicitor or Conveyancer can request a conveyancing certificate and a special meter reading.  A conveyancing certificate will detail any outstanding arrears so that allowances can be made in final settlement.

Requesting a special read is standard good practice so that any usage can be appropriately apportioned between the seller and buyer.

New land owners

When you purchase a vacant block of land we will be notified by the Land Titles office and we will establish a water and sewerage account in the name/s as listed on the Title.

Once your account has been established we will send you a welcome pack with information about our services and the network. Supply charges will be levied on your account for services that will become available for your property's connection.

If you are renting

The water account will remain in the property owner’s name.
