Sewage Treatment
Sewage treatment is a complex process where sewage is treated to remove poisonous or toxic substances. Solids are separated out and the remaining water is cleaned for release back into the natural water cycle. Many different approaches to wastewater treatment exist around the world.
Icon Water have two main sewage treatment plants in Canberra. Lower Molonglo Water Quality Control Centre is the primary sewage treatment plant in Canberra, and is Australia's largest inland sewage treatment facility. Fyshwick Sewage Treatment Plant is the other major treatment facility in Canberra.
