Red Hill Reservoir upgrade and repair

Our Red Hill reservoir provides water to Yarralumla, Forrest, Kingston, Narrabundah, Fyshwick and (of course) Red Hill.

To ensure this facility continues to operate reliably and effectively, we need to conduct upgrades and repairs. This will involve:

  • An upgrade to the valving arrangement of our upper reservoir, and
  • repairs to the roof of our lower reservoir.
What will we be doing? When will we be doing it?
(Estimated dates)
Repairs to the roof of our lower reservoir 18/09/2024 - 15/12/2024
Valve upgrade at our upper reservoir 20/10/2024 - 20/12/2024

Impact to residents
Our reservoir tanks are located within the Red Hill Nature Reserve. This means it may be necessary to close, reroute or restrict access to certain tracks and walkways within the reserve.

Residents may also experience traffic congestion, elevated noise levels and visual disruptions while construction is ongoing.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused by these works, and ask residents to please be mindful of any traffic management measures we may have in place.

The following routes will experience disruption:

  • Kent St, Deakin ACT 2600
(opposite National Surveyors House and the Royal Life Saving Society ACT)
  • Gowrie Drive, ACT 2603
(just before the intersection with Red Hill Drive)

Please note that while we are doing everything we can to minimise any environmental impact, our activities may (temporarily) disturb local plant and wildlife.
