Drains and Pipes Boardgame
Activity- Grades 2-7
The Drains and Pipes board game is a fun, and engaging, activity designed to take players through the ACT urban water story. Game play is suited for students’ grades 3-7.
The game can be downloaded and printed for your class to play; you’ll need the following components to play the game:
Roll your dice to follow the journey of drinking water and sewage through the urban water cycle. Each square aligns with a question card to test a player’s knowledge on the following topics:
- Catchment and source water protection
- Drink tap
- Water for life
- Protecting our catchments
- Sewer drain care
Players will learn the names of the ACT water supply dams as they, navigate through pipes leading from our taps to the treatment plant. Follow the waste water journey through the treatment process which ends when players reach the Murrumbidgee River system.
