Essential network maintenance in Turner, Curtin & Parkes

We are committed to ensuring the long-term performance and reliability of our wastewater network as it continues to serve the Canberra community. As part of this commitment, our contractor, Interflow, will be conducting essential maintenance on a portion of our network from
8 February to 1 March.

Project overview

This work will be conducted at night to allow our teams to operate as efficiently as possible, while minimising disruption to the community. We understand that night-time work may cause some inconvenience, and we appreciate your patience and cooperation. Our contractors will take all possible measures to reduce noise and other disturbances.

This maintenance work will take place within the arterial wastewater network, which is located on reserve land and is accessible to our contractors. Private property access is not required. However, some access points may be near residential areas.

Interflow will carry out these works on our behalf using specialised plant equipment, which will be visibly branded with Interflow signage. Please note that, at times, the operating noise levels may exceed standard noise pollution limits.

Interflow’s team members will always:

  • Wear high-visibility uniforms.
  • Use lighting and appropriate traffic or pedestrian detours.
  • Carry identification authorising them to perform these works as our contractors, in accordance with the Utilities Act 2000.

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has been informed of these works and acknowledges the necessity of conducting them at night, which is the period of lowest wastewater flow.
