Temporary water discolouration possible in: Forrest, Griffith, Kingston, Barton and Narrabundah
Icon Water crews will be replacing an air valve on Brisbane Avenue, Barton on Tuesday 27 July which may lead to temporary discoloured water in the suburbs of Forrest, Griffith, Kingston, Barton and Narrabundah during and after the works.
Residents may experience water discolouration due to increased water velocity and reversal flows within the mains. Velocity increases in water flow can stir up small amounts of natural sediment in the pipes which should clear with normal use within 24 hours of the works being completed.
We don’t recommend you drink water which appears, tastes or smells objectionable. It’s also better not to use household appliances, such as your dishwasher or washing machine, due to possible staining or discolouration of clothes.
While we will do everything we can to operate our network in a way which minimises disruption, we apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused due to these works and thank the community for their patience.
