Temporary water discolouration possible in: Florey and Latham

Icon Water crews will be carrying out zoning works at Higgins Reservoir on Thursday, 15 July which may lead to temporary discoloured water in parts of Florey and Latham during and after the works. 

The Higgins Reservoir will be isolated during the works and water will be fed from other reservoirs, which will cause water flow to be reversed in some mains. Water flow reversal can stir up small amounts of natural sediment in the pipes which should clear with normal use within 24 hours of the works being completed.

We don’t recommend you drink water which appears, tastes or smells objectionable. It’s also better not to use household appliances, such as your dishwasher or washing machine, due to possible staining or discolouration of clothes.

While we will do everything we can to operate our network in a way which minimises disruption, we apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused due to these works and thank the community for their patience.
