Temporary water disruption and discolouration possible in: Ainslie
Icon Water crews will be doing some scheduled works on a water main in Ainslie on Tuesday and Wednesday, 19th & 20th September, which may lead to temporary discoloured water and a possible change of direction of water flows in the suburb of Ainslie during the works.
Water flow reversal can stir up small amounts of natural sediment in the pipes, which should clear with normal use within 24 hours of the works being completed. Our crews will flush the mains before opening the zone valves to assist with clearing any discolouration.
It is expected that water will return to normal with standard use.
We don’t recommend you drink water which appears, tastes or smells objectionable. It’s also better not to use household appliances, such as your dishwasher or washing machine, due to possible staining or discolouration of clothes.
While we will do everything we can to operate our network in a way which minimises disruption, we apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused due to these works and thank the community for their patience.
If you have any questions or concerns please contact our 24/7 faults and emergency hotline on 02 6248 3111 (option 1).
