National Water Week Primary School Poster Competition 2024
Submissions for the Australian Water Association's (AWA) National Water Week (NWW) poster competition have now closed. We would like to extend a huge thank you to everyone who participated.
We asked primary students from across the ACT and Queanbeyan to design, draw or paint a poster that demonstrates the theme 'Water for all, Inspiring Action', while reflecting water-related issues which are important to their local area - and we must say, the entries were all fantastic!
We are very excited to announce this year's winners and honourable mentions!

About National Water Week
National Water Week makes a splash across Australia every third week in October, inspiring individuals, communities and organisations to build awareness around the value of water. Access to clean water is hugely important to our daily lives, and it’s down to all of us to protect our water environments and resources and use water wisely.
Every year, the Australian Water Association set a theme for National Water Week.
The theme for 2024 is ‘Accelerated change’
The 2024 National Water Week theme is Accelerating Action. It serves as a powerful rally cry for our community to address water's vital role in the current climate crisis. Together, we will spark a collective movement towards a sustainable water future, taking concrete steps to bring about inspiring and long-lasting change.
Water covers three-quarters of our planet and makes up two-thirds of our bodies. We thirst for it and bathe in it. It is used by communities, industry and agriculture for health and livability, the environment, Aboriginal cultural access, manufacturing and production of food and other produce. Water is an essential resource needed for economic prosperity wherever you live. How we use water across our communities' matters. It is dependent on the local, national and global water cycle. Our water supply and wastewater need to be treated with care. Together, we all can act to protect our water’s sustainable future.
